About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer, maintain, and support Windows-based servers and workstations in a cleared enterprise or mission-critical DoD environment
- Deploy operating system patches, security updates, and hotfixes according to maintenance schedules and security requirements
- Implement and sustain system hardening using DoD security standards, STIGs, and organizational cybersecurity policies
- Identify and remediate vulnerabilities to support RMF controls, POA&M tracking, compliance, and audit readiness
- Monitor system performance, availability, and operational health
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, and access-related issues
- Maintain system configurations, change records, and technical documentation
- Coordinate with cybersecurity, network, and program teams on accreditation, incident response, and secure system operations in classified or controlled environments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
- Secret Clearance
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 2 required professional certification: CCNA-Security, Security+ CE, or higher certification
- Experience administering Windows-based servers and workstations within a cleared enterprise or mission-critical DoD environment
- Knowledge of DoD security standards, STIGs, organizational cybersecurity policies, RMF controls, POA&M tracking, and audit readiness
- Preferred: DoD COMSEC Manager or COMSEC account management experience
- Preferred: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, patching, hardening, user administration, and troubleshooting
- Preferred: KVM, VMware, vSphere/vCenter, OpenShift, and Docker experience
