About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support all RC-135 operational and ground training missions by preparing and recovering mission software loads
  • Conduct recoveries of all missions by extracting critical data for customer use
  • Provide Ground Data Processing System (GDPS) operations support
  • Perform data import/export operations and mission data archiving
  • Assist with GDPS hardware and software malfunction isolation
  • Configure systems for special operations modes and testing as required
  • Manage GDPS daily operations and recommend corrections for system anomalies
  • Maintain GDPS database and software configuration control
  • Manage login/password security controls
  • Support the USAF’s RC-135 mission aircraft and related ground support systems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience in IT/computer systems experience, OR Graduate Degree and minimum 2 years of prior related experience, OR minimum 8 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree
  • Demonstrated experience with computer hardware and software performance, sustainment, and administration
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and recovering mission software loads
  • Demonstrated experience with data import/export operations and mission data archiving
  • Must be worldwide deployable
  • Ability to travel up to 30% CONUS/OCONUS
  • Must be able to work various shifts
  • Ability to move up to 50 lbs and ascend/descend ladders up to 5% of the time
  • Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance and pass a CI polygraph within the first year
  • Ability to obtain DoD IAT level II certification or higher within six months, e.g. CompTIA Security+
  • Preferred: Experience or qualification with current RC-135 mission systems or equivalent platform or systems
  • Preferred: Programming experience with Linux shell scripting, MySQL, PHP, Perl, Java, and HTML
  • Preferred: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Preferred: CompTIA Network+ or Security+ certification
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Linux and UNIX-based operating systems using command line and Oracle database administration
  • Preferred: Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
