About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with regional and divisional leadership to develop and execute growth strategies for Regulated Building Materials, Environmental Due Diligence, and Brownfields services.
- Serve as an Environmental Division leader and resource for other LaBella divisions.
- Identify opportunities to incorporate environmental services into multidisciplinary projects, pursuits, and client relationships.
- Develop and maintain client relationships and pursue new business opportunities.
- Participate in client meetings, networking, industry events, presentations, proposal development, and pursuit strategy.
- Prepare and lead proposals and pursuit teams.
- Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing, client communication, deliverables, and regulatory coordination.
- Provide technical oversight and quality review of reports, proposals, and environmental deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance for asbestos and lead-based materials surveys, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, Brownfields redevelopment, environmental assessments, and remediation services.
- Conduct field work as appropriate.
- Mentor, train, and develop junior environmental staff.
- Support collaboration, accountability, technical excellence, professional growth, and knowledge sharing.
- Monitor workload, staffing, project capacity, and resource needs.
- Collaborate with Environmental Managers and technical staff throughout LaBella.
- Represent LaBella with clients, regulatory agencies, industry organizations, and the community.
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.S. degree in environmental science, biology, geology, or engineering.
- 20+ years of progressive environmental consulting experience, preferably with significant experience in one or more of the following areas: Regulated Building Materials, Environmental Due Diligence, and/or Brownfields.
- Strong understanding of environmental consulting services and regulatory requirements related to RBM, Environmental Due Diligence, Brownfields, or related environmental services.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of the financial and operational aspects of professional consulting services.
- Proven ability to mentor, train, and develop junior staff and help build high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and organizational teams.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong proposal writing, technical writing, and presentation skills.
- Highly motivated with a strong commitment to client service and business development.
- Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment.
- Willingness to travel throughout Virginia as needed.
- Regularly required to sit or stand.
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus required.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
