About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own multi-year sourcing and category strategies for datacenter equipment and construction scopes
  • Partner with Construction, Design, and Development from site selection through procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover
  • Own procurement of long-lead datacenter infrastructure equipment and sequence awards and deliveries to protect the critical path
  • Lead contracting strategy for general contractors, EPCs, design firms, and specialty trades
  • Select and negotiate commercial models including lump sum, GMP, cost-plus, and design-build
  • Serve as lead negotiator on high-value construction and equipment agreements and partner with Legal on master agreement terms
  • Own owner-furnished equipment strategy, including direct purchasing, logistics, storage, warranty, and installation interfaces
  • Drive change-order discipline, assess claims and schedule impacts, and partner on resolution
  • Identify and realize long-term cost-reduction opportunities through standardization, volume aggregation, early buys, and design-to-cost
  • Build strategic partnerships with OEMs, contractors, and trade partners to secure capacity and delivery slots
  • Negotiate and oversee delivery commitments, milestones, and SLAs across vendors and construction partners
  • Set procurement and contract-execution standards and provide executive briefings on risks and contingency plans
  • Identify threats to schedule, cost, and safety and drive remediation
  • Oversee supplier and contractor performance through audits, site walks, and business reviews
  • Define and execute industry and ecosystem engagement strategy across the datacenter construction supply base

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Deep, hands-on experience across end-to-end supply chain and strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management — typically 10+ years, or 8+ with a Master's degree
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience owning multi-year category strategies for complex, high-spend, supply-constrained areas
  • Recognized lead negotiator with experience personally closing complex contracts
  • Experience setting process, policy, or governance standards and driving policy change
  • 3+ years of informal or indirect team leadership, coaching senior practitioners, and driving cross-functional consensus
  • Ability to brief and persuade executives and build compelling business cases
  • Fluency with data for anticipating risk, modeling change-order impact, and defending decisions
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity, on compressed timelines, and in supply-constrained markets
  • Experience working with general contractors, construction managers, design and engineering firms, and specialty trades
  • Experience leading construction contracting and contract administration, including delivery models, GC/EPC and trade agreements, change orders, claims, and closeout
  • Experience procuring long-lead datacenter or critical-facility infrastructure equipment and sequencing it against live construction schedules
  • Nice to have: datacenter infrastructure equipment category management experience
  • Nice to have: datacenter capacity program management experience
  • Nice to have: master agreement negotiation and contract dispute resolution experience
  • Nice to have: sourcing process, governance, or supplier management practice implementation experience
  • Nice to have: AI and automation tooling experience in supply chain or procurement workflows
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
