About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and evolve the infrastructure-as-code execution platform using Terraform and Atlantis
- Design and operate Lambda’s cloud account, access, and IAM structure
- Own the cloud network foundation, including VPCs, Transit Gateway, and DNS
- Drive AWS cloud governance through tagging standards, compliance guardrails, and cost visibility/accountability
- Implement least-privilege access and compliance automation
- Replace manual access and provisioning work with self-service
- Help define the new team’s scope, priorities, and service boundaries
- Participate in an on-call rotation
- Keep owned systems documented, reliable, and observable
- Collaborate with Security, GRC, IT, and engineering teams that consume the foundation
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, cloud platform, cloud security engineering, or a closely related discipline
- Deep experience managing AWS at scale, including multi-account organizations, IAM, permission boundaries, SCPs, and resource organization
- Strong foundation in infrastructure-as-code, especially Terraform, including modules, state management, and automated plan/apply workflows
- Solid cloud networking fundamentals: VPC design, transit and hybrid connectivity, DNS, and edge/CDN configuration
- Comfortable writing automation and tooling in Go and/or Python
- Use AI tools as a natural part of work and review, verify, and own their output
- Comfortable with ambiguity and clarifying ownership
- Ability to build broadly reusable solutions
- Ability to identify the underlying problem and ask why
- Ability to monitor, measure, and improve systems after launch
- Attention to operational detail
- Must be present in a San Francisco, San Jose, or Bellevue office location 4 days per week
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Nice to have: agentic infrastructure or governance workflows, SOC 2 or ISO 27001 controls, cloud cost management/FinOps, and Azure, GCP, or OCI experience
