Key responsibilities & impact

Lead teams building software for a secure, performant, and available AI cloud at massive scale
Own networking services supporting network monitoring, security, performance, and availability
Own architecture and operational excellence of large-scale distributed network systems, control planes, and data paths
Improve security posture, network-health observability, and internet/backbone traffic engineering
Set multi-year technical strategy for network software services
Hire, develop, retain, and structure engineering teams and management layers
Manage through leads and senior individual contributors with feedback, growth planning, and sponsorship
Partner with network engineering, operations, capacity, and product teams
Set SLOs, on-call health standards, incident response, and blameless postmortems
Improve engineering processes, code quality, and incident learning
Represent technical direction to senior leadership, enterprise customers, and partners

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years building highly available, large-scale distributed systems for cloud infrastructure or enterprise network architecture
5+ years leading software engineering teams
2+ years managing managers
Software engineering background with production systems experience
Expertise in networking protocols and data-center/cloud networking, including BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, software-defined networking, and traffic engineering
Expertise in zero-trust security and CI/CD automation
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or OCI
Track record of building and scaling engineering organizations delivering mission-critical cloud connectivity
Ability to translate ambiguous business and product goals into team priorities and engineering plans
Strong technical judgment and project/product delivery experience
Excellent written and verbal communication
BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Ability and willingness to work onsite at the Bellevue or San Francisco office 4 days a week
Legal authorization to work in the United States
