About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and implement the strategic path for electronic component suppliers in coordination with the Global Strategic Sourcing Manager of e-Components and the Director of Strategic Sourcing for North America
  • Drive cost improvements and supply stability through negotiation techniques for e-Components such as Microcontrollers, Memory, and Modems
  • Manage product costing, including quoting, cost analysis, spend and savings forecasting
  • Support annual price negotiations through preparation, cost analysis, historical trending, product reduction targets, and negotiation
  • Utilize the e-Sourcing tool for quoting and bid analysis and prepare sourcing recommendations for the Global Procurement organization supporting the North American business
  • Reduce product costs by leveraging existing Global Procurement activities
  • Support new product introductions and share timely, accurate information with project teams
  • Ensure supplier contract compliance and manage suppliers in North America according to contracts
  • Develop supplier performance and relationships through quarterly business review processes
  • Support supplier escalations involving supply, quality, support, safety, or other matters
  • Evaluate processes, recommend improvements, and implement changes to close gaps
  • Perform other assigned or required duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (MBA a plus)
  • 5+ years of experience within a procurement organization
  • Manufacturing knowledge desired
  • Experience in sourcing and managing electronic component suppliers or a similar electronics field
  • International sourcing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of target markets and ability to translate that knowledge into strategic plans and actions as it relates to products and services procured
  • Demonstrated results in cost management and cost reduction activities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for interaction with all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to plan strategically over a 1-2 year period
  • Ability to recognize potential issues and take proactive measures to resolve
  • Ability to understand legal and risk mitigation development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office package
  • Experience in an e-sourcing environment and SAP preferred
  • Bi-lingual preferred; Mandarin a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and capability of managing multiple projects
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%
