About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the initial escalation point for complex technical issues from program support teams
- Provide in-depth technical support across Development, Engineering, SQA, Product Management, and Project Management
- Drive resolution of technical issues, document resolutions fully in CRM, and cross-train other departments
- Gather detailed technical information and escalate unresolved issues to the Engineering/Tier IV team
- Support the Technical Implementation Manager with deployment of company solutions for customers
- Own test environments and the test lab supporting the deployment organization
- Create use-case scenarios and solutions demonstrating GridStream system operation and improve the customer-facing test suite
- Support System Acceptance Testing (SAT) for new customer deployments
- Support manufacturing resources during First Article Testing (FAT) and monitor FAT processes
- Lead creation of standard operating procedures and repeatable technical solutions
- Follow formal change-control processes
- Develop subject matter expertise in two-way electric AMI technology from head-end software to field endpoints
- Ensure CRM tickets are fully documented and resolved or escalated within SLA guidelines
- Follow through proactively on technical issues to ensure accurate and prompt resolution
- Support software installation activities for new releases and provide post-implementation support
- Test and support beta software versions and identify gaps in technical documentation
- Participate in root-cause-analysis response teams for system problems during solution deployment
- Represent Landis+Gyr professionally with internal and external customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science degree required
- Experience working with solutions involving both software and hardware
- Strong analytical skills and ability to perform methodical root cause analysis and troubleshoot technical issues
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to work in an environment driven by high standards for service and system delivery
- Ability to work unsupervised and act as a self-starter
- Experience with Oracle or SQL Server databases is a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong customer communication and service skills
- Experience with wireless technologies is a plus
- Background in software quality testing desired
- Utility domain knowledge preferred
- Experience with Windows desktop/server platforms and/or Unix, networking, and scripting is a plus
- Ability to plan and maintain schedules
- Good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for solving problems and obtaining solutions
- Self-motivated and proactive; able to work under stressful conditions
- Proven ability to resolve customer issues appropriately
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Ability to travel approximately 25%
- Ability to act as liaison with other Landis+Gyr business units to resolve and follow through on issues and defects
- Ability to see, hear, and speak in English
- Must be current with available OSHA/Safety Training provided by the Company
- Ability to work while wearing required safety equipment, if required
