About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the scientific authority on ground truth for the TxBench biologics development benchmark
  • Convert real development workflows into file-based tasks with structured outputs and deterministic grading
  • Develop tasks covering developability triage, analytical/CMC characterization, PK and FcRn reasoning, immunogenicity, effector function and safety, and first-in-human dose projection
  • Write gold-standard answers from raw data with realistic tolerances
  • Curate developability, glycan LC-MS, charge-variant CE, intact/subunit MS, SEC-MALS, FcRn/FcγR sensorgram, PK, immunogenicity, and effector-assay data fixtures
  • Partner with software engineers and scientists to create benchmark workflows
  • Evaluate whether AI agents distinguish genuine liabilities from analytical artifacts
  • Assess whether agents align effector function and affinity with mechanism
  • Evaluate linear versus target-mediated clearance and target product profile fit
  • Interrogate agent reasoning step by step and challenge unsupported conclusions
  • Identify failure points, corrective expert actions, and evidence that would change decisions
  • Score agent confidence and reward explicit uncertainty
  • Participate in a few pod check-ins per week while working independently on a self-directed schedule

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • PhD in protein engineering, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, pharmacology, or a related field
  • Hands-on analysis of antibody development data
  • Deep expertise in at least one area: analytical/CMC characterization, large-molecule DMPK, protein engineering and developability, or non-clinical safety
  • Working fluency across the other biologics development areas
  • Command of how readouts map to critical quality attributes, PK and effector properties, and release or comparability decisions
  • Python or R for data analysis, including parsing chromatograms and electropherograms, kinetic fitting, or PK modeling
  • Daily use of Claude, Cursor, or similar AI agents
  • Ability to identify technically correct but scientifically unsound model reasoning
  • Ability to calibrate confidence and communicate uncertainty
  • Bonus: antibody format and Fc engineering experience, including IgG subclasses, YTE/LS, effector-silencing, and bispecific architectures
  • Bonus: familiarity with MAM, ICH Q6B/Q5E, FDA immunogenicity guidance, IMGT, SAbDab, and IEDB
  • US citizenship, permanent residence, or OPT-holder status
  • Must not require STEM OPT extension or sponsorship

Benefits
