About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define expert reasoning for imaging questions and write gold-standard answers with defensible rationales
- Design realistic scenarios covering sample preparation, staining, acquisition, preprocessing, segmentation, quantification, and interpretation
- Curate image datasets across immunofluorescence, confocal/live-cell, electron microscopy, histology/histopathology, and high-content screening
- Build Python analysis pipelines, including deep-learning segmentation, to produce verifiable ground truth
- Partner with software engineers to create benchmark workflows
- Test whether AI agents distinguish biological signal from imaging and segmentation artifacts
- Adjudicate ambiguous images and determine what additional evidence would resolve uncertainty
- Evaluate agents’ choices of imaging modality, resolution, and unit of analysis
- Interrogate agent reasoning step by step and challenge scientifically unsound conclusions
- Identify agent failure points and explain better expert approaches
- Score agent confidence, rewarding appropriate uncertainty
