About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support attorneys in all phases of estate planning, probate, guardianship, wills, and trust matters
- Draft, format, and proofread pleadings, motions, orders, and other court documents
- Prepare and respond to discovery; organize, index, and summarize documents
- File documents with courts through e-filing and in-person filing as needed
- Ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines
- Maintain case calendars for hearings, deadlines, client meetings, and court appearances
- Prepare trial and hearing binders, exhibits, witness lists, and related materials
- Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files
- Coordinate signing appointments and assist with execution of estate planning documents
- Conduct legal research and factual investigations
- Collaborate with attorneys and team members to move cases forward
- Perform other duties supporting the estate planning and probate practice
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 2+ years of estate planning/probate experience in Texas; 5+ years preferred
- Associate’s degree or Certificate in Paralegal Studies, or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Excellent typing skills and computer literacy
- Solid understanding of MS Office and/or Google Suite applications
- Proficiency with Clio and TxDoc or similar software
- Ability to focus on details, handle multiple tasks, and remain highly organized
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional demeanor and positive communication
- Experience supporting estate planning, probate, guardianship, wills, and trust matters
