About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the full lifecycle of family law and EPG (Estate Planning/Guardianship) matters from inception through resolution
- Draft substantive pleadings, motions, and complex discovery responses with technical accuracy
- Lead discovery and inventory processes, including tracing separate property funds and identifying red flags in financial affidavits or business valuations
- Partner with attorneys to curate trial exhibits and organize trial notebooks
- Manage ongoing RFOs (Requests for Order)
- Oversee court filings
- Maintain calendaring for hearings and deadlines
- Ensure billable hours are captured accurately
- Navigate clients through difficult legal matters with professionalism and empathy
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 2+ years of dedicated Texas Family Law experience as a paralegal
- Proficiency in e-filing across various state court portals
- Knowledge of current local rules
- Fluency with Clio/MyCase
- Fluency with Google Suite
- Experience with modern document management systems
- Understanding of the distinction between legal information and legal advice
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during emotionally charged litigation
- Self-starter capable of providing mentorship and contributing to a collaborative team culture
