About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the full lifecycle of family law and EPG (Estate Planning/Guardianship) matters from inception through resolution
- Coordinate with attorneys, clients, courts, and third parties to progress cases
- Draft substantive pleadings, motions, and complex discovery responses
- Lead discovery and inventory processes, including tracing separate property funds and identifying red flags in financial affidavits or business valuations
- Partner with attorneys to curate trial exhibits and organize trial notebooks
- Manage ongoing RFOs (Requests for Order)
- Oversee court filings
- Maintain calendaring for hearings and deadlines
- Ensure billable hours are captured accurately
- Help ensure files are trial-ready
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 2+ years of dedicated Texas Family Law experience as a paralegal
- Proficiency in e-filing across various state court portals
- Ability to stay current with local rules
- Fluency in Clio/MyCase, Google Suite, and modern document management systems
- Understanding of the distinction between legal information and legal advice
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in emotionally charged litigation
- Self-starter capable of providing mentorship and contributing to a collaborative team culture
- Detail-oriented and tech-savvy
- Experience with divorces, SAPCR matters, modifications, enforcement actions, and related EPG work
