About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive high-stakes litigation from intake to final decree/judgment, including contested divorces, complex SAPCR cases, and protective orders
- Lead probate litigation involving contested guardianships, will contests, trust disputes, and breaches of fiduciary duty
- Draft comprehensive estate plans
- Conduct First-Chair trials, hearings, mediations, and depositions in Texas surrounding counties
- Develop litigation tactics and negotiation strategies for fast-paced dockets
- Provide results-driven, compassionate client representation
- Handle a diverse caseload across all firm office locations as needed
- Supervise assigned paralegals and support staff
- Ensure precision in pleadings, discovery, and document drafting
- Focus on legal practice without responsibility for lead generation, business development, or chasing invoices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active membership in the Texas State Bar; minimum 2 years licensed
- 5+ years of dedicated experience in Estate Planning, Probate, and Guardianship litigation
- Proven record of success in the courtroom
- Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Ability to remain empathetic in highly emotional situations
- Proficient in Clio, TxDoc, Google Suite, and modern e-filing systems
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel between firm office locations
- Bilingual English/Spanish considered a strong plus
