About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping across all accounts
- Categorize transactions consistently and correctly in QuickBooks
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment platforms
- Monitor data integrity and resolve discrepancies
- Track and manage cash flow and maintain visibility into incoming and outgoing funds
- Support cash flow forecasts and provide liquidity insights to leadership
- Flag potential cash flow risks or irregularities
- Review, document, and optimize internal financial workflows
- Improve expense tracking, billing processes, and internal controls
- Recommend and implement system improvements
- Prepare structured financial reports for internal use
- Support budgeting and forecasting with organized financial data
- Collaborate with external CPAs during tax filings, audits, and reviews
- Ensure compliance with U.S. accounting standards and internal policies
- Work closely with leadership to improve financial data capture, structure, and reporting
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
- 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a bookkeeping or accounting role for a U.S. company (required)
- Strong expertise in QuickBooks (required)
- Proven experience with detailed categorization and financial cleanup (required)
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment
- Minimum of 6 hours of overlap with the firm’s operating hours in Pacific Time (PT)
- Engagement as an independent contractor, with tax compliance being the contractor’s responsibility
- Candidates may be asked to provide a resume/CV, complete a detail or accuracy assessment, complete a practical bookkeeping task, and provide proof of qualifications and professional references
