About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead software developers responsible for the contract platform and internal CMS editor experience
  • Shape technical direction and translate business goals into reliable software delivery
  • Manage Software Developers and Scrum Masters
  • Set expectations, coach team members, guide performance and career development, and build shared ownership of delivery and production quality
  • Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders on strategy and technical roadmaps
  • Remove delivery obstacles and focus teams on high-impact work
  • Translate technical context, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs into business language
  • Make architecture and technology selection decisions aligned with business goals and scalability
  • Manage project schedules, scope, estimates, dependencies, risks, and delivery commitments
  • Apply AI to technical investigation, prototyping, code review, test development, documentation, and delivery analysis
  • Coach developers on AI-assisted engineering practices
  • Strengthen practices for web applications, APIs, data models, automated testing, CI/CD, security, and production troubleshooting
  • Manage releases, rollout readiness, rollback planning, incident response, technical quality, and removal of obsolete code or feature flags
  • Enable website experimentation with Product and Analytics teams
  • Support hiring, onboarding, daily operations, and people management
  • Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, Architecture, and Information Systems leaders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Post-secondary education in Computing Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience leading software development teams and supporting developer performance, growth, and delivery
  • 7+ years of experience in software development, architecture, or technical delivery
  • Experience managing projects, processes, priorities, and technical delivery in a software development environment
  • Strong technical judgment across web applications, APIs, data models, automated testing, CI/CD, security, and production troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience using AI platforms, agents, or related tools in real software engineering work
  • Ability to validate AI-generated output, identify risks, and coach others on where human judgment is required
  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect technical decisions to company priorities and operational outcomes
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional business stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining trade-offs, negotiating scope, and aligning stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Agile processes and cross-functional software delivery
  • Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript, C#/.NET, Vue, SQL Server, and Entity Framework Core is nice to have
  • Experience introducing reusable AI workflows, engineering playbooks, or developer enablement practices is nice to have
  • Familiarity with Model Context Protocol or similar approaches is nice to have
  • Experience leading AI adoption, technical transformation, or broader change management initiatives is nice to have
  • Ability to work permanently in Canada, as indicated by the application question
