About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operational responsibility for planning and procurement at a production site
- Independently sourcing production and consumable materials
- Managing the entire ordering process, including deadline monitoring and ensuring material availability
- Managing inventory while taking sales and production forecasts into account
- Reviewing and clarifying order confirmations, delivery notes, and invoices
- Handling supplier complaints and coordinating with Quality and Production
- Ensuring an optimal balance between supply availability and tied-up capital
- Supporting price negotiations and implementing agreed terms and conditions
- Independently negotiating the procurement of B and C materials as required
- Contributing to supplier portfolio management, supplier evaluations, and identifying savings potential
- Coordinating with group-wide procurement functions on category strategies
- Contributing to cross-site procurement initiatives and leveraging consolidation effects
- Deputizing for the Head of Procurement during vacation and illness
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent qualification in purchasing/procurement
- At least 5 years of professional experience in a comparable role in operational procurement within an industrial company
- Very good understanding of production processes and material flows
- Confident negotiator with a structured and solutions-oriented approach
- High level of personal responsibility and strong execution skills in day-to-day operations
- Excellent communication skills when dealing with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with ERP D365 is desirable
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Very good written and spoken English
- Experience in the printing or packaging industry is an advantage
- Initial experience with strategic procurement topics or group-wide structures is an advantage
