About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain Salesforce applications using Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Flow
- Lead technical discussions and contribute to solution design alongside architects
- Mentor junior developers through pair programming, code reviews, and guidance
- Bring public health perspective to technical decisions and design conversations
- Write clean, well-documented, testable code
- Identify and resolve complex technical challenges
- Collaborate with QA to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Translate public health requirements into scalable technical implementations
- Contribute constructive feedback during code reviews
- Participate in quarterly Program Increment planning sessions
- Work in two-week sprints with daily standups, backlog refinement, and sprint retrospectives
- Guide technical decisions within the team
- Collaborate with solutions analysts, architects, and QA
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience
- 1–3 years working for a governmental public health agency (local, state, federal, or tribal)
- Salesforce Platform Developer I certification required
- Salesforce Platform Developer II certification preferred
- Experience working in Agile or SAFe environments
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Track record of mentoring or guiding less experienced developers
- Strong proficiency in Apex, SOQL, and Lightning Web Components
- Experience with Salesforce Flow and declarative automation tools
- Solid understanding of Salesforce data modeling and security model
- Familiarity with integration patterns and REST/SOAP APIs
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices
- Knowledge of testing frameworks and test-driven development
- Experience with Service Cloud or Health Cloud preferred
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance requirements preferred
- Experience with SAFe Agile methodology preferred
- Background in public health data systems, case management, or epidemiology workflows preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Willingness to adhere to the no-drug workplace policy
- Must agree to undergo eVerify for employment status at hiring
