Build, maintain, and improve highly available, scalable, and secure AWS cloud infrastructure for AI-powered products
Use AI tools to improve productivity and operational effectiveness
Optimize system performance and troubleshoot complex issues
Implement proactive monitoring solutions
Automate infrastructure deployments and operational tasks
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for product integration and delivery
Improve infrastructure and operational processes continuously
Build and improve the platform while supporting and maintaining live production systems
Operate AWS infrastructure across five regions serving millions of learners
Participate in production ownership, incident response, and on-call operations
Read and maintain legacy PHP platform services during migrations
Improve AI-agent tooling used with production telemetry during live investigations
Join the standard one-week-in-four, 24/7 on-call rotation after the first year; benefits text describes the current rotation as typically one week every four to six weeks after onboarding and training

Requirements

What you’ll need

A proven track record of 5+ years managing large-scale production systems
At least 3+ years of experience developing solutions and improvements for large-scale systems
Experience working in a global, distributed team environment
Strong proficiency in Python for scripting and automation tasks
Highly experienced with Docker and containerised applications and systems
Proficiency in POSIX shell scripting, including awk, sed, and grep
Strong version control skills using Git
Experience with GitHub Actions and Workflows
Advanced Linux skills, including iptables, systemd, logging, application management, diagnosis, and sysctl tweaking
Strong experience with AWS services including EC2, ALB/NLB, VPCs, IAM, RDS, ECS, Route53, and CloudFront
Experience maintaining large-scale legacy systems and performing migrations
Experience with large-scale databases and database administration, ideally MariaDB and PostgreSQL on Amazon RDS
Experience with metrics/monitoring systems, ideally Datadog and CloudWatch
Strong networking background, including TCP/IP and routing protocols (nice to have)
Experience optimizing database performance and resolving performance issues (nice to have)
Must have the right to live and work in Ireland
