About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design fiber optic and copper OSP networks for FTTH deployments and commercial developments
Work with power companies and design power routes and one-line schematics
Manage growth and sustainment of existing networks, including relocations and infrastructure changes
Perform quality control and field checks
Interpret OSP records
Create system designs and bills of materials (BOMs)
Provide construction quotes
Conduct site walks for data collection
Collaborate with engineering, design, construction, and cross-functional teams
Support construction staff with safety and quality control under the guidance of the Design Manager
Perform detailed aerial and/or underground outside plant and fiber designs for telecommunication networks

Requirements

What you’ll need

College, Trade, or Technical Diploma, preferably in civil, electrical/telecommunications, or GIS
3+ years in OSP telecommunications or a related field using AutoCAD
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Google Earth, Bluebeam, and Adobe
GIS is a plus
Strong organizational and planning skills
Ability to interpret construction documents
Ability to collaborate effectively
Ability to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States
Ability to adapt within a dynamic work environment
