About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate accurate and timely entry and reporting of data in company financial systems
- Manage accounts receivable, subcontract management, payroll, equipment time entry, accounts payable, and month-end reporting
- Interact and communicate with management and project teams to ensure data accuracy, timeliness, and completeness
- Support project management teams with monthly cost and profitability reporting, including monthly accrual entries
- Understand contract requirements for billing
- Coordinate accounts receivable functions and timely, accurate billing and invoicing
- Ensure timesheets are collected and processed accurately and on time
- Review accounts payable for accurate cost coding and purchase-order compliance
- Track subcontractor commitments and enter progress payments while ensuring contractual compliance
- Support equipment and fixed-asset cost tracking, entry, and reconciliation
- Prepare and enter journal entries into the JD Edwards financial ERP system
- Prepare and reconcile daily/weekly LEMs
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of related project accounting experience within the Construction industry
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and financial applications including large ERP systems
- JD Edwards experience would be an asset
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP
- Analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Commitment to continuous improvement and excellent customer service
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills
