About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Champion and uphold Ledcor’s safety-first culture and ensure safety and environmental standards are met or exceeded
  • Oversee project financial health, scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation
  • Manage project systems, cost tracking, reporting and documentation
  • Support implementation of the Quality Management Program and ensure compliance with quality requirements
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams for timely delivery of materials and services
  • Execute contracts and manage change orders
  • Support labour relations, human resources and payroll teams using systems such as Workday and InEight
  • Hold and manage the primary client relationship at project level
  • Oversee three to seven highway maintenance projects with durations of three to ten years
  • Lead cross-functional teams and optimize operational performance
  • Oversee portfolios of approximately $60M annual revenue, with individual projects ranging from $5M to $30M per year
  • Oversee direct reports and coordinate dedicated workforces, subcontractors and vendors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 10 years' experience working in dynamic project manager roles, including construction, services or industrial settings
  • Deep understanding of Health and Safety as a core company value
  • Experience working with Canadian Construction Safety Association (CCSA) members would be an asset
  • An engineering, Master of Business Administration, Financial designation or other relevant post secondary degree would be considered an asset
  • Open to relocation to the Edmonton area
  • Track record of leading teams up to 7 direct reports across remote worksites
  • Employee growth and development, coaching, and setting and monitoring performance expectations
  • Use of formal performance processes would be an asset
  • Ability to understand, interpret and communicate contract and performance requirements
  • Experience with change management processes, including change orders and scope adjustments
  • Demonstrated communication strategies to address, mitigate and resolve contractual challenges or disputes
  • Strong financial acumen, including project estimates, budgets, project contracts and forecasting
  • Use of InEight Software and JDE would be highly beneficial
  • Experience with project controls including quantity tracking, earned value, scheduling (MS Project), accruals and deferrals
  • Ability to build relationships and support operations across multiple geographically diverse worksites
  • Ability to suggest and make recommendations for optimized and efficient construction practices
  • Highly experienced in project scheduling and subcontract management
  • Highly experienced in change management
