About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes
- Lead development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs
- Oversee incident investigations
- Review and update construction schedules and address delays
- Contribute to project schedules
- Estimate activity durations and materials for complex projects
- Report and track financial aspects of projects
- Participate in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement, and negotiations
- Set priorities and allocate resources for the entire field team
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents
- Lead daily field operations to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards
- Manage field staff, contractors, and tradespeople
- Uphold site safety and quality control
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1 to 3 years of experience as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent
- Experience in underground fiber installation methods is a plus, including plowing and Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)
- Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Ability to directly supervise craft employees and subcontractors
- Problem-solving abilities and capacity to anticipate and address issues
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Willingness to travel throughout multiple states
- Ability to work in a site-based position with 80% travel
