About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate snowplows, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
- Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year-round
- Assist with labourer duties including pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning, and hazard remediation
- Work outside in all weather conditions
- Work scheduled 8- to 12-hour daily shifts on 5-on/2-off or 6-on/1-off schedules
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 50 lbs. on a regular basis, bending, kneeling, crouching etc.
- Valid AZ or DZ driver’s license with air endorsement
- Provide a copy of a 3-year commercial driver’s abstract
- Previous experience operating a snow plow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset
- Local applicants will be given preference due to the location of the work
- Shift work, on-call, and night shift availability required
- Winter seasonal availability from Oct 1 to April 30th
