About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Divide time between supporting the wastewater treatment plant and production department
  • Operate production equipment, clean, move materials, and perform other assigned tasks
  • Operate wastewater treatment equipment such as pumps and valves
  • Monitor meters, gauges, and control panels
  • Add chemicals and collect wastewater samples as needed
  • Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping in the treatment plant
  • Clean the headworks, bar screens, equalization tanks, clarifiers, and other treatment plant areas
  • Apply wastewater treatment chemicals to the wastewater treatment process
  • Discharge wastewater and ensure it meets permit limits
  • Learn and perform wastewater laboratory tests, including COD, ammonia, phosphorus, and pH
  • Support production operations when not working on wastewater operations
  • Comply with GMP, food safety standards, and wastewater-operation SOPs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • At least 1 year of sanitation or janitorial experience, preferably in a food or beverage manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of basic sanitation principles and food safety requirements
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, SOPs, and safety protocols
  • Able to work with chemicals safely and use required PPE
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays as needed
  • Experience in a USDA/FDA-regulated facility or similar food-grade manufacturing preferred
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, or related food safety programs preferred
