About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines (ETL/ELT) on Google Cloud Platform, following engineering best practices.
  • Monitor data loading and quality, ensuring the reliability and availability of data stores.
  • Orchestrate data processes using Airflow.
  • Support technical data architecture designs and relationships between tables.
  • Document pipelines and data models, including entity-relationship models, and manage code versioning through Git.
  • Negotiate the scope and timelines of activities directly with the client.
  • Understand and apply business rules related to auto insurance claims when developing solutions.
  • Represent the coordination team in technical and business forums.
  • Share technical and business knowledge with the team.
  • Support management in leading the team, spearheading projects, and ensuring delivery timelines and quality.
  • Work for a major insurance company, engaging constantly with the client and taking responsibility for the quality and governance of delivered data.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 5 years of experience in data engineering.
  • Solid experience with SQL for queries and analytical modeling.
  • Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with Airflow for orchestrating data pipelines.
  • Advanced knowledge of Python.
  • Experience with Git for code versioning.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong programming logic and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in data pipeline governance, including ETL and ELT pipeline development and load monitoring.
  • Experience with technical documentation, including entity-relationship models, code documentation, Git versioning, and Confluence.
  • Experience with Jira.
  • Google Cloud Platform certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a plus.
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry, especially claims, is a plus.
  • Graduate degree in a data-related field is a plus.
  • Experience with other data orchestration tools is a plus.
  • Willingness to understand the business and learn about the relevant industry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ease of interaction with clients.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with team members and clients.
