About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct technical research to support the team’s activities
  • Support M&A due diligence and investigations, particularly by addressing technical matters within the practice
  • Liaise directly with authorities during hearings, and prepare petitions and submissions
  • Independently conduct interviews for internal investigations and deliver client training sessions
  • Triage and assess client requests, proposing appropriate courses of action
  • Assist with crisis management and risk management
  • Conduct external administrative and judicial proceedings and inquiries
  • Draft legal opinions, memoranda, and technical articles
  • Participate in industry events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Law degree, with a postgraduate qualification or master’s degree in areas such as Compliance, Governance, Criminal Law, or International Law
  • Active registration with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB)
  • Advanced or fluent English
  • International experience, particularly experience working at foreign law firms, is highly valued
  • Strong experience in compliance, internal investigations, and corporate governance, including work on corporate crises, administrative proceedings, and leniency agreement negotiations
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., FGV’s CPIIC and SCCE’s CCEP) are highly valued
  • Hands-on approach, with a willingness to work directly on technical matters rather than only providing supervision
  • Team player with strong working relationships with both partners and more junior attorneys in the practice
  • Ability to take ownership of client and practice matters with supervision, while maintaining alignment with leadership and the team
  • Willingness to build a medium- to long-term commitment to the firm and the practice’s growth plan, as well as to engage in career-path discussions
