About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate and treat patients for swallowing disorders and communication/cognitive impairments using evidence-based therapeutic techniques
  • Establish treatment goals and develop and implement Speech Pathology treatment programs based on a full clinical evaluation
  • Provide rehabilitative services to patients under specific medical orders as part of a coordinated team
  • Participate in clinical conferences to share and coordinate patients' plans of care
  • Treat residents one-on-one through private treatment sessions using a functional-based treatment approach
  • Build relationships with senior patients and contribute to personalized therapeutic care
  • Work as part of a rehabilitation therapy team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's Degree from an accredited graduate program in speech language pathology school
  • Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP, or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment
  • Excellent interpersonal, fiscal, and clinical skills
  • Minimum commitment of 8 hours per month to maintain active employment
