About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide support to teachers, students, and administrative staff to ensure smooth daily school operations
  • Work under the direct supervision of the principal
  • Make copies, deliver materials, and assist with other projects as needed
  • Supervise students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, lunch periods, and field trips
  • Assist with child drop-off and pick-up through Driveline, including possibly during inclement weather
  • Maintain ethical behavior and confidentiality regarding student information
  • Alert the regular teacher to problems or special information about individual students
  • Assist staff and students with educational computer programs
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor that do not require professional skills
  • Work periodically with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning introduced by the teacher
  • Create a safe learning environment conducive to learning

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Must pass a criminal history background check
  • Arizona employees: Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Ability to positively interact with all students
  • Ability to positively and professionally interact with parents
  • Ability to identify individual student needs
  • Good communication skills with students, coworkers, administration and parents
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks in a timely manner
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, and lifting up to approximately 25 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally lift equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids
  • Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone
  • Ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone
