About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Advise business units on all legal matters arising from day-to-day operations across all company functions
Advise internal stakeholders and collaborate with the relevant specialist departments on unfair competition law, intellectual property law, and copyright law; patent law is excluded
Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, particularly procurement, supply, services, and cooperation agreements
Support business units on matters relating to general commercial law, consumer protection, product safety, product liability, regulatory requirements, and compliance
Serve as a point of contact for legal matters arising from day-to-day business, disputes, and special projects
Provide practical, business-oriented recommendations for action
Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes, internal policies, and governance standards
Work closely with the Head of Legal and other in-house counsel

Requirements

What you’ll need

Fully qualified German lawyer (Volljurist/Volljuristin) who has passed both German state examinations in law
At least six years of relevant professional experience in contract and commercial law, unfair competition law (UWG), intellectual property law, and copyright law, excluding patent law
Preferably experience in a consumer goods company, a manufacturing company, or a specialized practice group at an international commercial law firm
Demonstrated experience working in teams and collaborating with external legal advisers from commercial law firms, including managing those advisers
Very strong user knowledge of the key Microsoft 365 applications, at a minimum OneDrive, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, and Copilot; these skills are essential
Practical experience with additional AI tools, such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Legora, is a significant advantage
Basic user knowledge of workflow automation, for example with Power Automate, is desirable but not required
Open-minded, service-oriented, and collaborative, with a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach to work
Willingness to take on new areas of responsibility and develop expertise in them, such as product safety, product liability, and product-related compliance
Fluent in German and English
Additional foreign-language skills are an advantage
