About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead engineering across AEGIS technologies including data centers, cloud, networking, VoIP, cybersecurity, and collaboration services
  • Build relationships with senior NASA and Leidos leadership and align engineering with agency priorities
  • Assess enterprise system baselines and recommend modernization improvements
  • Translate NASA objectives into engineering priorities, plans, milestones, and measurable outcomes
  • Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team supporting networking, firewalls, VoIP, data centers, and cloud services
  • Foster innovation, learning, technical excellence, collaboration, accountability, and customer service
  • Mentor engineers and provide expectations, feedback, and career guidance
  • Perform systems analysis and planning; develop feasibility studies, trend analyses, business cases, benchmarks, and strategic roadmaps
  • Guide solutions meeting user needs and contract obligations; assess emerging technologies and architectural impacts
  • Lead design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and logistics activities
  • Track project status, schedules, dependencies, risks, constraints, and decisions
  • Operate network technology labs for asset management, testing, standards evaluation, requirements analysis, and technology investigation
  • Coordinate engineering across networks, telecommunications, cable plant, data centers, cloud, cybersecurity, and voice/video
  • Support governance, policy, architecture, standards, process reviews, design reviews, documentation, configuration management, change control, peer reviews, and decision records
  • Advise the Program Manager on impacts to stability, cost, architecture, interoperability, and compatibility; recommend mitigation strategies
  • Identify, prioritize, escalate, and resolve risks and issues
  • Develop strategic and implementation plans and comprehensive technology roadmaps
  • Maintain the Five-Year Hardware Lifecycle Plan for AEGIS-supported hardware
  • Collaborate with Leidos CTO and Solutions Architect organizations and support program growth through innovative technical solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience
  • At least 7 years of experience managing a large engineering team as part of an IT organization
  • Strong leadership abilities; detail-oriented; effective under deadlines
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong budgeting and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning
  • Demonstrated success building relationships with customers and teammates
  • Experience executing development programs in an agile environment
  • Experience developing Estimates to Complete/Estimates at Completion (ETC/EAC)
  • Ability to effectively communicate when briefing Leidos and NASA senior leadership
  • Technical knowledge across one or more of the following: Network Solutions (LAN, WAN, SDA, SD-WAN); Data Center Technologies (Virtualization, Capacity Management, Data Backup); Cloud-based Architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP); Collaboration Services (Conferencing, VoIP)
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance ranging from a Public Trust, at minimum, up to a Top Secret clearance, as required
