About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide global language, cryptologic language, and cultural training to military forces and civilian personnel through classroom instruction, written materials, technology-based instruction, and distributed learning services
- Develop and integrate global and cryptologic training materials, curriculum, and courseware for US Government approval
- Adapt instructional methods to students' language proficiency goals, learning styles, and time constraints
- Advise the Language Manager and military representatives on student assessment, placement, and training needs
- Track student progression and report training effectiveness to the Language Manager and military
- Provide translation services, primarily global and cryptologic language training for military personnel
- Work with the unit Language Program Manager to develop and integrate language training materials, technologies, and methods into existing training programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Current polygraph or eligibility to obtain one, plus all customer access requirements
- ILR level 3 or higher in Chinese Mandarin
- Advanced working proficiency in English (ILR level 2+, based on DLPT 4)
- Bachelor's degree in Chinese Mandarin language, Applied Linguistics, or language teaching preferred; additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree or in combination with an Associate's degree
- 2–4 years of military or intelligence experience
- 1–3 years of language-related experience
- 1 or more years of experience producing translation and language-related services
- 1 or more years of experience providing language-related instruction
- Strong knowledge of Chinese Mandarin, including speaking, grammar, phonology, and linguistic functions
- Familiarity with intelligence-cycle phases including collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance activities
