About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Operations Manager for the U.S. Air Force Cloud One Architecture and Common Shared Services contract
  • Manage daily IT operations for high performance, reliability, and alignment with business objectives
  • Oversee IT service management processes, incident and problem management, SLA and KPI performance, and corrective actions
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams of multi-cloud engineers, network engineers, SREs, and Tier 2/3 service desk personnel supporting 60+ DoD applications and systems
  • Direct operational planning, workforce planning, staffing, resource allocation, subcontractor management, and prioritization
  • Drive continuous improvement, service delivery optimization, efficiency, and alignment with program strategy and product roadmaps
  • Serve as operational leader and customer interface, addressing mission requirements and supporting business growth
  • Partner with program leadership, IT, application development, engineering, and business stakeholders
  • Guide Agile and operational best practices
  • Lead organizational change across complex, cross-functional, and matrixed teams
  • Assess operational performance, risks, improvement areas, strategy, metrics, and incident action plans
  • Lead major incident response and drive issues through resolution
  • Oversee security, compliance, audits, vulnerability remediation, risk mitigation, and compliance artifacts
  • Evaluate technology and application lifecycles and identify modernization opportunities
  • Mentor operations leaders and technical staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years’ relevant experience or a Master’s degree and 6 years’ relevant experience
  • 5 years’ experience leading teams or projects
  • Experience supporting mission-critical IT operations within high-availability, enterprise environments
  • Experience with incident management, technical troubleshooting, service restoration, log and trend analysis, and root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Experience supporting cloud environments and performing enterprise systems administration
  • Experience collaborating with customers, technical teams, and key stakeholders to resolve incidents, address service issues, and meet operational requirements
  • Experience using IT service management (ITSM) and support ticketing systems
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance
  • Preferred: 4+ years managing device configuration and patch management for a comparable enterprise operation
  • Preferred: 4+ years managing comparable service desk teams
  • Preferred: 4+ years communicating with Government personnel, including agency executives
