About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop enterprise cloud and infrastructure architectures, technology roadmaps, reference architectures and design patterns aligned with customer objectives
  • Design and govern hybrid cloud environments spanning AWS, Microsoft Azure and other cloud platforms, including landing zones, migration strategies, integration patterns and operating models
  • Guide the modernisation of enterprise hosting and virtualisation services, including container platforms, software-defined infrastructure and transition from legacy technologies
  • Partner with customer stakeholders, engineering and service delivery teams, security specialists, technology vendors and senior leaders
  • Facilitate architecture workshops, technical reviews, governance and assurance activities
  • Support Defence and national security customers through secure, mission-critical technology services and digital transformation initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least seven years’ experience in cloud and platform engineering and/or architecture
  • Experience designing enterprise hybrid cloud environments using AWS and/or Microsoft Azure, including cloud migration, transformation, governance, security and operating models
  • Experience across enterprise data centre and hosting environments, including VMware vSphere, virtualisation, workload migration, and storage, compute and networking architectures
  • Capability in developing technology roadmaps, architecture artefacts, design patterns and reference architectures
  • Experience contributing to architecture governance, design reviews and technical assurance activities
  • Ability to engage senior customer stakeholders, technology partners and multidisciplinary delivery teams, and communicate technical concepts clearly to executive audiences
  • A bachelor’s degree or relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Nutanix, container platforms or software-defined infrastructure
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps, automation and infrastructure-as-code practices
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud or Google Distributed Cloud
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, identity federation or privileged access management
  • Experience delivering security architecture within highly regulated environments
  • Relevant cloud, enterprise architecture, VMware or Nutanix certifications, particularly AWS or Microsoft Azure architecture qualifications
  • Experience working with Agile delivery and DevOps practices
  • Must be an Australian citizen
  • Must hold an NV-1 security clearance
