About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Process personnel actions including accessions, separations, position and pay changes, service/pay computation dates, and retirement, health insurance, life insurance, and other benefit forms.
- Serve as liaison between FAA and the DOI Payroll Operations Division.
- Input and process employee benefit changes, work schedules, union dues, VLTP balances, Thrift Savings Plan deductions, voluntary payroll deductions, VLB, settlements, and leave and T&A agreements.
- Review BUS reports for bargaining-unit enrollment changes.
- Support Wednesday processes by notifying timekeepers about coding issues and remedial actions to resolve pay errors.
- Handle and resolve pay and non-pay actions across General Schedule, Federal Wage System, Core Compensation, and Air Traffic Pay Plan systems.
- Advise HRSDs, LR, and regional counsels on third-party settlements and agreements and assist with back pays.
- Monitor and work PLS folders for serviced regions.
- Monitor and review Change of Station emails.
- Complete tax emails and BUS emails received through designated shared mailboxes.
- Complete assignments accurately and on deadline, independently and collaboratively.
- Escalate problems and work issues to managers or team leads when needed.
- Communicate and interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Maintain working knowledge and ability to perform each function within the assigned area.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2 - 3 years of relevant experience.
- Understanding of union contracts.
- Experience with federal payroll, types of federal leave, and leave audits.
- Knowledge of clerical procedures used to perform the work.
- Federal agency experience.
