About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide position classification and evaluation support to Lines of Business and Staff Offices
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge and experience in Federal position classification
  • Develop job descriptions and classify positions in accordance with applicable position classification standards
  • Implement standardized position descriptions for a variety of occupations, when applicable
  • Advise managers on designing positions for a complex organization
  • Maintain position classification accuracy and consistency in interpreting and applying classification standards
  • Monitor classification appeal decisions and assess organizational and practice impacts
  • Advise management on efficient, cost-effective organizational structures supporting desired grade/band levels
  • Advise management on complex position and organizational structure issues
  • Communicate internal classification policies and procedures
  • Provide high-level classification operational and consultative services, including quality control of daily classification activities
  • Conduct position reviews and desk audits as assigned to assess pay plan, title, series, and grade/band level
  • Develop audit reports
  • Provide advice and guidance on policies and procedures
  • Communicate FAA positions, policies, and procedures internally and externally
  • Provide requested items to the Director or designee

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA in Human Resources, or closely related field; or, if no BA degree, a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible staffing, talent acquisition, or related HR experience
  • 8 years of progressively responsible staffing, talent acquisition, or related HR experience
  • MS Office Suite proficiency
  • Experience with classifications
  • Federal Government Staffing or Human Resources experience
  • Ability to work within the US
