About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Establish the facility concept of operations
  • Determine work content and program timing for transferring work to the facility
  • Partner with Corporate Facilities to establish, monitor, and manage the non-recurring construction schedule
  • Develop the production floor layout and associated material flow
  • Develop equipment and tooling requirements and partner with Manufacturing on budgets, spend plans, and acquisition schedules
  • Lead planning and execution of production readiness gate reviews
  • Partner with local representatives on site activation, staffing plans, and local community engagement
  • Lead concept development, planning, budgeting, and activation of a production facility for a critical air defense program
  • Define facility CONOPS, layout, material flow, production tooling/equipment requirements, and inventory management approach
  • Manage overall site activation execution and collaborate with existing leadership on project progress

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline with 8+ years of experience, OR Masters in technical or business discipline with 6+ years of experience
  • Demonstrated technical experience creating manufacturing plans, including work location determination, equipment requirements, process definition, work area layout, tooling requirements, takt time evaluation, and capacity planning
  • Experience managing complex projects, including scope baselining, budgeting, scheduling, and performance monitoring/reporting
  • Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville–North Alabama, AL area
  • Required travel between Huntsville and Lawton sites
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must possess and be able to maintain a Final Secret Clearance OR meet eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Preferred: experience developing site manufacturing plans for greenfield or brownfield sites
  • Preferred: experience supporting greenfield or brownfield site activation
  • Preferred: experience building and leading a team of manufacturing engineers
  • Preferred: expertise in Lean principles, manufacturing metrics, and continuous improvement
  • Preferred: familiarity with Deltek Costpoint
  • Preferred: familiarity with Solumina MES
  • Preferred: familiarity with Agile or Windchill PLM
  • Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Strong personnel, planning, and project management skills
