About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical expertise in network engineering, administration, and operations
- Maintain enterprise network infrastructure for configuration, availability, performance, capacity, and maintenance
- Apply current patches and upgrades
- Monitor technology obsolescence, manage upgrades, and evaluate alternatives across on-premises and cloud IT infrastructures
- Monitor operations and collect and evaluate metrics for network services, project KPIs, and Service Level Agreements
- Perform risk assessment, risk mitigation analysis, vendor trade studies, and documentation
- Ensure continuity of operations, including disaster recovery
- Architect, design, install, configure, administer, support, and maintain networks, associated hardware, and cloud resources
- Update to new technologies, tune performance, and prioritize critical system patches
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree with 15+ years of prior relevant experience or a Doctorate with 13+ years of prior relevant experience
- Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
- Must have an active TS/SCI with a Polygraph
- Expert in providing technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments
- Expert in establishing goals and plans that meet project objectives
- Domain and expert technical knowledge
- Expert in directing and controlling activities for a client, with overall responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing
- Expert in interfacing with senior management and negotiating with clients on requirements and deliverables
- Experience with Cloud technologies, including AWS
- Expert level experience with Cisco and Nexus Architecture, including designing, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise-level Cisco/Nexus networking hardware (9K/7K/5K/2K)
- Expert experience in scripting with shell, Python, Perl and similar languages
- Proven experience installing and maintaining security patches on servers
- Documented experience creating, maintaining and implementing detailed documentation for standard systems operating procedures
- Expert experience supporting Windows and Unix environments
- Ability to analyze hardware and software from external vendors and make recommendations for purchase and installation
- Expert experience with ITIL
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco Enterprise environments
- Expert experience with IP, routing and connection services
- Expert experience working on a SAFe Agile Framework
