About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide Project Management Services supporting a key electric utility client
  • Coordinate and support execution of transmission projects through the Site & Acquire phase
  • Serve as a central coordination point across Real Estate, Survey, Engineering, Siting, Environmental, Permitting, Public Engagement, Legal, Project Controls, Finance, and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate land acquisition activities for substation sites, easements, and transmission line rights-of-way
  • Track acquisition milestones and parcel-level activities, including surveys, title work, environmental considerations, permitting dependencies, property documentation, negotiations, and closing milestones
  • Facilitate project meetings, status reviews, issue resolution, stakeholder communication, and project reporting
  • Support and maintain project schedules and milestones, including Primavera P6 schedule updates
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, and acquisition progress to support required in-service dates
  • Coordinate environmental, permitting, compliance, and project governance requirements
  • Support funding requests, forecasting, risk assessments, change management, and project reporting
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure Site & Acquire deliverables are completed before turnover to downstream execution and construction teams
  • Conduct occasional site visits and document relevant project/site information
  • Work under the direction of a Senior Project Manager / Execution Project Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated project management experience within the electric utility industry
  • Completed Bachelor's degree is preferred; relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, milestones, and reporting
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and multiple internal/external stakeholders
  • Recent experience supporting or managing electric transmission capital projects preferred
  • Familiarity with transmission siting, land acquisition, easements, ROW, permitting, environmental, or related project-development activities strongly preferred
  • Ability to operate with limited oversight while working under the direction of a utility Senior Project Manager
  • Strong organizational, communication, coordination, and documentation skills
  • Primavera P6 familiarity preferred
  • Candidates should be located in North or South Carolina
  • Ability to conduct periodic travel to client sites throughout the Carolinas
