About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute and implement strategy, support services, and overall contractor activities and deliverables to NASA and/or space industry commercial customers
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer and provide technical supervision
- Manage contractor personnel assigned to the program
- Assess the market for new and innovative projects and professional services
- Partner with business development on on-contract growth and new business opportunities
- Serve as the single point of accountability for overall contract performance, managing scope, cost, schedule, staffing, and technical quality
- Build strong customer relationships and ensure complete customer satisfaction
- Plan, organize, and manage multiple teams led by experienced technical leads across various projects
- Work with task and functional leaders, other companies, and support personnel to execute contract plans
- Generate forecasts for budget, labor resources, equipment, and supplies
- Perform contract management tasks covering quality, safety, OCI, property management, and information/IT security obligations
- Ensure optimal program staffing with appropriate skill levels
- Oversee multi-function project teams responsible for technical contract deliverables
- Manage subcontractor and teaming partner performance where applicable
- Communicate program status to the customer and Leidos Division Manager
- Support proposal, recompete, and business-growth activities, including adjacent mission work and follow-on task orders
- Mentor and develop employees for future career growth opportunities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field and 10+ years technical and/or supervisory/management experience leading teams and projects supporting space research, missions, or programs, or a Master’s degree and 8+ years' relevant experience
- Minimum of 4 years’ program management experience in a technical program, contract or large multi-faceted task order with an annual value of $10M+
- Experience with different contract types, such as FFP
- Experience in financial management, performance management, business management, process management, resource management, risk assessment and risk management processes and procedures, and change management
- Experience overseeing multi-function project teams in a matrixed organization
- Experience in business development processes
- Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with and presenting to individuals at all levels including executive level
- Interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building
- Analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent residency is required
- Desired: Previous NASA or space industry experience
- Desired: Proven ability to build and lead alliances and partnerships with other companies to accomplish customer objectives
- Desired: Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or Program Management Professional Certification (PgMP)
- Desired: Experience supporting AS9100 or equivalent quality management systems
- Desired: Knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence
