About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Direct full-lifecycle development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of mission software systems spanning analytics, cyber, geospatial, and enterprise data workflows.
- Oversee development and sustainment of classified systems of systems supporting warfighter intelligence, operational planning, and strategic decision-making.
- Implement and enforce enterprise Agile practices, Program Increment Planning, CI/CD pipelines, and rapid prototyping methodologies across distributed teams.
- Serve as the autonomous senior interface to government sponsors, shaping technical direction, resolving issues, and driving mission-aligned growth.
- Develop and execute programs with disciplined accountability for technical, schedule, and financial matters to maintain performance baselines and customer confidence.
- Drive rapid prototyping, IR&D initiatives, and technical fellowship-level solutioning to accelerate mission capability insertion and expand program growth opportunities.
- Lead large-scale mission software development, full-lifecycle modernization, and distributed engineering organizations.
- Oversee multidisciplinary teams delivering secure, high-performance capabilities across architecture, integration, DevOps, cyber, and cloud environments.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of experience in software-intensive program leadership; or Master’s degree with 12+ years; or equivalent experience.
- Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain a polygraph once hired.
- Demonstrated leadership of large, geographically distributed engineering organizations delivering mission software across classified and unclassified environments, with teams distributed across at least two physically/geographically separated locations.
- Proven success managing $20M+/year software development and sustainment portfolios.
- Deep experience with full-stack software development, DevOps, CI/CD, cloud, cyber, and enterprise data systems.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills spanning technical, operational, and executive audiences.
- Experience supporting business development, technical solutioning, and major proposal efforts, including hands-on knowledge/development of BOEs and RFP/RFI response generation.
- Preferred: Active TS/SCI with polygraph.
- Preferred: Experience delivering mission-critical classified systems for the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community.
- Preferred: Background in software architecture, cyber innovation, AI/ML integration, modeling/simulation, or enterprise modernization.
- Preferred: Experience leading multi-discipline teams of 100+ personnel across diverse technical domains.
- Preferred: Demonstrated ability to recover troubled programs, re-establish technical execution, and deliver under high-visibility conditions.
- Preferred: Experience driving IR&D, rapid prototyping, and technical innovation pipelines aligned to mission needs.
