About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Integrate and test software providing flight planning and other services to the pilot community
  • Collaborate with System Engineering to develop integration and verification plans mapping requirements to test cases, pass/fail criteria, and traceability artifacts
  • Understand system-level requirements and perform system interface checkouts
  • Analyze issues with System Engineering and Software teams to develop solutions
  • Learn system architecture, design, functions, and capabilities to support integration and testing of new capabilities and enhancements
  • Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures
  • Debug system-level issues and provide detailed supporting data
  • Document and track system defects and verify fixes
  • Perform testing in physical and virtual test labs with the customer present
  • Execute manual and automated test procedures to verify system configuration
  • Coordinate activities, communication, and planning with customers and Leidos personnel
  • Perform formal test execution with customer and quality assurance organizations present
  • Demonstrate test execution to the customer on a run for record to achieve customer acceptance per release
  • Work within a Scaled Agile software development organization and cross-functional teams supporting regulated, safety-critical government programs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 9+ years of professional experience; or a master’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 7+ years of professional experience
  • Experience and familiarity with Agile methodology, principles, and tools
  • Ability to obtain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA customer
  • Experience in following a documented Integration and Test Development Process
  • Developed and executed automated system integration and test solutions
  • Experience in the use of UNIX and Linux operating systems
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining automated test suites
  • Strong integration skills with hands-on experience integrating large software complex systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interface with internal and external customers
  • US Citizenship
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Desired: Air Traffic Control and Flight Service Experience
  • Desired: Knowledge of AI-assisted development workflows and tools (i.e. Claude Code, Codex, etc.)
  • Desired: Knowledge of air traffic control systems, general aviation, and/or flight services
