About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, implement, and administer Windows Server systems, Microsoft Azure, AWS, M365, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Hyper-V, PKI, GPO, and file/print services
Use advanced PowerShell scripting to automate tasks and improve system efficiency
Collaborate with security teams to establish and uphold compliance standards using CIS Benchmarks and DISA STIGs
Support systems accreditation efforts for business- and mission-essential systems
Apply Federal Government security frameworks including STIGs, CIS, and NIST
Assess, install, and recommend technologies for databases, systems management, server virtualization, network storage, and security
Advise customers on cost control, best practices, and cloud-native services and solutions
Deploy secure solutions across internal and external environments using client/server architecture expertise
Create and maintain process, disaster recovery, and issue-resolution documentation
Collaborate within a hybrid, multi-location operations team to support production environments
Execute patching and security configuration activities for servers and databases
Monitor system health, performance, and operational trends; proactively address potential issues
Handle support tickets, incidents, service requests, and problems through their lifecycle
Analyze incidents, identify root causes, recommend solutions, and communicate status updates
Mentor and coach junior team members and provide technical leadership
Collaborate with cross-functional groups to resolve internal and customer IT requirements
Lead projects or processes spanning multiple technical areas, both internal and customer-facing

Requirements

What you’ll need

Full-time telework from any U.S.-based location
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Able to obtain and maintain a Federal Civil Agency Public Trust clearance prior to start date
Bachelor degree and 8 years’ experience; additional years of experience accepted in lieu of degree
Familiar with ticketing systems and the value of good documentation
Competent in Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022, and 2025
Experienced in DNS, DHCP, PKI, and GPO
In-depth knowledge of PowerShell scripting
Obtain a baseline 8570 certification (IAT Level II: CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP) within 3 months of hire date
Microsoft technologies certification preferred
Security+ CE certification preferred
AWS and/or Azure certifications preferred
