About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Verify and validate changes made to the ServiceNow system
- Develop efficient and modern test techniques and processes through automation testing
- Validate ServiceNow configuration, development, support, and maintenance
- Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders on digital transformation solutions
- Work within an Agile Scrum team to deliver quality software
- Create automation tests using ServiceNow’s Automation Test Framework (ATF)
- Implement continuous automated regression testing
- Analyze capability requirements and collaborate with technical leads on verifiable implementations
- Identify testable acceptance criteria in user stories
- Test ServiceNow capabilities delivered in sprint plans
- Support independent testers with test procedure development and execution
- Participate in sprint reviews and sprint planning
- Translate functional requirements into test cases
- Perform regression testing across operational test scenarios for customer-delivered builds or images
- Prepare test reports covering results, anomalies, system errors, and configuration changes
- Support software configuration management and understand component interface requirements
- Develop test plans, test data, and test acceptance criteria
- Support customer demonstrations, data preparation, and UAT activities
- Use Atlassian Jira to document testing updates and create defects
- Maintain the validation portion of the requirements traceability matrix (RVTM)
- Mentor and coach junior developers throughout projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Requires a US Citizenship
- Obtain an active security certification that meets DOD 8570 IAT level II or higher (i.e., Security+) within 14 days of hire
- Hold an active DoD Secret clearance
- Must be able to commute to Scott AFB, IL, Ft. Meade, MD, or Ogden, UT for full time on-site support
- Bachelor’s Degree with 12–15 years of relevant experience or master’s with 10–13 years of prior relevant experience; additional years of work experience in lieu of degree is acceptable
- Test data management and testing automation
- Familiarity with the ServiceNow platform
- Experience with DevOps, continuous integration tools and source control tools
- Experience with agile development and testing methodologies
- Ability to work on a multidisciplinary team
- Willingness to assist and train junior testers
- Preferred: 3–5 years’ experience with ServiceNow administration, configuration management and maintenance
- Preferred: prior knowledge and experience with ServiceNow’s ATFs
- Preferred: experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks
- Preferred: knowledge of ServiceNow platform modules including Discovery, Event Management, Scripting, Service Mapping, Business Rules, Custom applications, Orchestration, Workflows, and Service Catalog
- Preferred: ability to perform code analysis and troubleshoot difficult technical issues
- Preferred: understanding of ITIL Foundation or ITIL certification
- Preferred: AWS cloud certifications
- Preferred: knowledge of Agile development methodologies
- Preferred: knowledge of Jira and Confluence
