About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, organize, and conduct Warfare Technical and Tactical classroom and watch team lab training and evaluation for Aegis Foreign Military Sales training
Serve as an Aegis and BMD subject matter expert and training advisor for international Sailors and Officers
Plan, brief, evaluate, and debrief classes
Provide instruction on tactical employment techniques of the Aegis Weapon System through classroom and practical scenarios
Support curriculum development for present and future Aegis FMS courses
Support Train to Qualify and Train to Certify processes using shore-based trainers
Conduct dynamic training and assessment of watchstanders during integrated scenarios
Develop criteria for evaluating training effectiveness
Provide primary watch team instruction in AEGIS Combat Weapon Systems
Review and analyze Navy Aegis Combat System engineering capabilities and limitations and operational/tactical doctrine
Integrate and conceptualize doctrine execution to optimize Combat Systems capabilities in dynamic operational environments
Assess Sailors’ compliance with approved maintenance and operational procedures
Provide formal performance appraisals and recommendations for improvement
Communicate with executive leadership regarding significant organizational or project matters
Advocate for current practices and new concepts, practices, and approaches

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of 20 years of ship and shipyard design experience
Specific familiarity with unique shipbuilding and large-scale ship repair and dynamic analysis for ship launch
Significant knowledge of the AEGIS and BMD weapon system and its employment
Experience training/evaluating Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, and Tactical Action Officers
Served as a Combat Information Center Team Trainer (CICTT)
Naval experience on Surface Navy vessels (FF, CG, and newly commissioned destroyers)
Experience in curriculum development and instruction
Experience with joint and combined collaboration
Active Secret clearance
Excellent communicator
Executive-level briefing skills
Excellent organizational skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency with Microsoft Project Professional
Bachelor’s degree
