About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and scale Leo Berwick’s power, utilities, and renewables technology advisory practice
  • Define the sector point of view, offerings, and go-to-market approach
  • Originate and close engagements with PE sponsors, infrastructure funds, and corporate acquirers
  • Train and mentor staff on sector-specific technology diligence
  • Lead buy-side and sell-side technology diligence workstreams
  • Evaluate target technology environments, architecture, and organizational readiness
  • Own technology separation planning and execution for carve-outs, including TSA scope, stranded costs, and TSA exit strategy
  • Lead post-merger technology integration planning and execution
  • Serve as primary technology advisor to portfolio company C-suite executives and PE deal teams
  • Own end-to-end engagement delivery, cross-functional teams, quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction
  • Contribute to building and growing the business and collaborate across practices and service lines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Direct, hands-on experience serving clients in renewables, power generation, or utilities
  • Deep technology and/or data expertise
  • Personally assess target architecture and review OT and IT environments, including SCADA, EMS/DMS, AMI, GIS, asset and work management, and ERP
  • Experience building software or data solutions, including applications, data pipelines, analytics models, or integrations
  • Deep expertise in data and AI, including designing and executing AI use cases and conducting AI impact assessments
  • Experience assessing cybersecurity and compliance risk is an asset
  • 10–15+ years of relevant experience in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated ability to originate and grow business
  • Experience leading cross-functional, often distributed teams
  • Experience building trust with senior executives and investment professionals
  • Technology M&A and consulting experience is an asset
  • Experience advising private equity firms, infrastructure funds, or corporate acquirers is strongly preferred
  • Portable relationships must comply with prior firm non-compete and non-solicit obligations
