About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and lead Letterboxd's long-term content strategy across editorial, social, video and audience channels
  • Establish priorities and investment decisions using audience insights, platform trends and performance data
  • Lead the Editorial, Social, Production and Studio Relations teams as an integrated content function
  • Oversee content planning, publishing schedules and production workflows across newsletters, JOURNAL, social channels and video platforms
  • Create original content formats, franchises and storytelling approaches
  • Work with Design to ensure visual consistency and strong creative execution
  • Use audience, platform and performance insights to improve content effectiveness and reach
  • Partner with Advertising, Partnerships and Marketing on branded content, sponsorships and commercial collaborations
  • Connect audience growth, editorial excellence and commercial outcomes
  • Mentor and support the Head of Editorial, Head of Social, Head of Production and Head of Studio Relations
  • Maintain editorial standards, publishing processes, ethical guidelines and quality control
  • Manage content budgets, production investment and resource planning

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years' experience in audience-led content businesses, including media, publishing, digital content or audience leadership roles
  • Experience leading editorial, social and content production teams
  • Proven success growing audiences across owned, earned and social channels
  • Experience in film, television, media, entertainment, sport, lifestyle or other culturally relevant consumer environments
  • Strong understanding of content performance, audience development and digital publishing
  • Experience working closely with advertising, sponsorship, marketing or branded content teams
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to connect content investment to business outcomes
  • Passion for film, television and the communities that form around them
  • Strong editorial judgement and cultural instincts
  • Deep understanding of digital publishing, social media, newsletters and video platforms
  • Understanding of engagement drivers across different audiences and formats
  • Ability to balance audience expectations, commercial goals and editorial integrity
  • Ability to build scalable content systems without losing quality
  • Calm, curious and confident in fast-moving environments
