About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure that the company’s transactions are properly recorded by understanding and monitoring operations and correctly applying accounting standards
Ensure compliance with the accounting close schedule through effective processes and performance indicators
Support decision-making across other departments by clarifying financial impacts and providing financial information
Reconcile and analyze accounting balances, identifying and correcting discrepancies
Assess account variances and prepare explanations for key movements and trends
Ensure the timely and legally compliant submission of the accounting department’s ancillary tax and regulatory obligations
Prepare financial statements and notes to the financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS
Prepare financial reports for senior management
Propose and implement process improvements and automation initiatives within the department
Support internal and external audits by providing information and documentation
Conduct variance and nonconformity analyses, define action plans, monitor their implementation, and assess the effectiveness of the measures

Requirements

What you’ll need

Postgraduate degree or MBA, preferably in Finance or Taxation
Solid experience in Accounting
Experience in project and process management
Advanced Excel skills
Experience with SAP, particularly the FI module
Knowledge of other SAP modules (SD, MM, and CO) is a plus
Experience in or close collaboration with Controllership is a plus
Knowledge of accounting entries related to tax operations is a plus
Familiarity with the impacts and changes arising from Tax Reform is a plus
