About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review records and balances for property, plant and equipment (PP&E) and intangible assets, ensuring data integrity, appropriate accounting classification, and compliance with CPC 27, CPC 04, and other applicable accounting standards
  • Review asset transactions, including capitalization, disposals, transfers, depreciation, and amortization
  • Monitor transactions to ensure they are recorded in the correct accounting period and according to their economic nature
  • Monitor and review construction in progress, assessing the capitalization of expenditures, asset classification, and commencement of depreciation
  • Support impairment analyses, including the identification of indicators, organization of information, and assessment of accounting impacts
  • Organize physical inventories of PP&E, monitoring execution, reconciling discrepancies, investigating root causes, and recording adjustments
  • Prepare and review movement schedules for financial statements and notes to the financial statements
  • Monitor KPIs, analyze variances, identify root causes, and lead action plans
  • Monitor process quality and efficiency, identifying risks, control weaknesses, and improvement opportunities
  • Lead initiatives to improve, standardize, and automate asset management processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Knowledge of Brazilian Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Solid experience with accounting routines related to PP&E and intangible assets
  • Experience with PP&E inventory management
  • Advanced knowledge of the SAP AA module
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Intermediate English proficiency for reading and interpreting documents
  • Preferred: experience with accounting process improvement, automation, and standardization projects
  • Preferred: experience with impairment analyses and reviews of assets’ useful economic lives
  • Preferred: experience with CAPEX governance and collaboration with Engineering, Projects, Procurement, and Controllership teams
  • Preferred: experience with data management and analytics tools such as Power BI and SQL
