About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct instructional activities according to university standards
- Teach approved curriculum on schedule
- Provide timely feedback on assignments and student correspondence
- Maintain and report student grades and attendance
- Report course availability using prescribed school methods
- Maintain current personnel and professional data in university databases
- Conduct self-evaluations
- Monitor the HSOG Communication Center and assigned Instructional Mentor’s channel
- Complete FERPA, Title IX, and other assigned training on time
- Support curriculum development and conduct assessment activities as assigned
- Teach foundational pre-law subjects including torts, property, contracts, criminal and civil procedure, and legal reasoning
- Develop students’ logic, critical analysis, ethical decision-making, constitutional law knowledge, and LSAT-oriented analytical thinking
- Integrate biblical principles with legal studies and explore faith’s relationship to law, justice, and public policy
Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris Doctorate (JD)
- Demonstrated strengths in teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate level
- Appropriate mentoring and interpersonal skills
- Organizational skills that facilitate the completion of assignments and tasks in a timely and accurate manner
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and online Learning Management Systems
- Commitment to Liberty University’s goals and values
- Active commitment to and experience of personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview
